TTU SELECTED TO HOST EU-GHANA PACT FOR SKILLS INITIATIVE

Takoradi Technical University, TTU, has been selected as one of six Universities in Ghana to Host Green Entrepreneurship Acceleration and Incubation Programmes in partnership with E4Impact Foundation under the Entrepreneurship Stream of the EU-Ghana Pact for Skills project.

TTU was selected through a competitive selection process among 13 Ghanaian Universities after an application by the University led by Prof. Mrs. Abigail Gura who made a strong case about the University’s strategic plan, entrepreneurial, green and digital initiatives as well as field visits of physical and digital facilities as evidence.

The European Union Funded project has the objective of supporting tertiary education for sustainable employability by improving the transition of students into the job market, with special focus on green and digital sectors.

In a letter confirming TTU’s selection, signed by the Secretary to the Selection Committee, Saviour Agortimevor, emphasised that the EU-Ghana Pact for Skills project “will enhance coordination mechanisms, increase digital skills training and provide acceleration and incubation services in Ghana.” The EU-Ghana Pact for Skills: Support tertiary education for sustainable employability” initiative, is led by United Nations Capital Development Fund, UNCDF, and funded by the European Union.
