Takoradi Technical University is governed by a Council and managed by a team of experienced academic and administrative leaders. The governance structure ensures that the University operates in accordance with the Technical Universities Act 2016 (Act 922) and the University Statutes, while being responsive to the needs of industry, students and the broader community.
The Chancellor
The Chancellor is the titular head of Takoradi Technical University. The office is held by a distinguished individual of national and international standing, appointed in accordance with the University Statutes. The Chancellor presides over congregation ceremonies and represents the University at the highest ceremonial level.
The Council Chairperson
The Chairperson of the University Council presides over Council meetings and is responsible for ensuring that the Council fulfils its statutory responsibilities. The Chairperson is appointed by the Government of Ghana in accordance with the Technical Universities Act 2016. The Council is the supreme governing body of the University, responsible for its overall governance, financial management and strategic direction.
