DR. DR. DR. MOSES MACLEAN ABNORY

Dr. Moses Maclean Abnory was born on 31st July, 1968 in Asokore in the Ashanti Region of Ghana. He hails from Kusanaba in the Upper East Region, Ghana. He is married with three children and currently residing at Cape Coast, Central Region. He had his General Certificate Examination both Ordinary and Advance Level at Effiduase Secondary School (1988) and Kumasi High School, Ghana (1990) respectively.

Abnory had a Diploma in Education together with a Bachelor’s Degree in Arts (Social Sciences) which was awarded concurrently in 1996 at the University of Cape coast. He followed this up and earned a Master of Business Administration in Health Services Administration at University of Ghana in 2000. In 2011 and 2014, he was awarded a Postgraduate Diploma in Organisational Development and a Master of Art in Organisational Development respectively in the University of Cape Coast. Abnory obtained a PhD in Institutional Management from Florida, USA in February, 2016. He is currently pursuing a Doctor of Philosophy programme in Public Health at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST).

His research interests include issues of Health Services Management, Organisational Development, Productivity Management, Human Resource and Relations Management among others. He is best known for skills in Strategic Management and Critical Thinking, Organisation and Team Effectiveness Assessment, Facilitation and Pedagogy, Report Writing, Dynamic Team Building, Communication, Listening, Proposal Writing, Interpersonal Relations, Creative and Innovative Management, Administrative and Policy Formulation, ability to solve problems and achieve the desired goals, ability to work under pressure and stress, ability to learn new concepts quickly and adapt to new situations and environments.

He has held various positions before he began his career as the Director of the Directorate of Legal, Consular and General Services, University of Cape Coast (December 2015 to August 2019). He has climbed through the ranks from a Senior Administrative Assistant (Public Relations Section, U.C.C / Acting Welfare Officer, 1996 to 1997) to a Senior Administrative Assistant (Office of the Dean of Students, U.C.C, 1997 to 1998). He also assisted the Registrar in the Directorate of University Health Services from 2000 to 2012. He then became the Deputy Registrar in the then Division of Legal, Consular and General Services, U.C.C from October 2012 to November 2015).

He has also been a Board Member for the College of Community Health Nursing, Winneba and a Council Member for Tamale Polytechnic, from 2013 to 2017 and 2015 to 2017 respectively. He has served as a secretary for the Cultural Activities Committee, Residence Board, University of Cape Coast, Committee of Heads of Halls, Ad hoc on Best Worker Award, Hospital Board, Senior Common Room Committee. Aside these, he has membership experience for the Congregation Planning Committee and Sexual Harassment Committee, among others.

He is into other extension services in teaching, at the post graduate level. He is a Part-time lecturer for the following courses: BUS 813 D- Management and Organizational Behavior, (College of Distance Education post graduate programme, UCC), Weekend School- KUMASI, 2013 to date, HRM 803 – Management Theories and Concepts in Human Resource Management (School for Development Studies, U.C.C.), Sandwich, 2011 to date, and that of HRD 811S -Organizational Development (Institute for Development Studies, U.C.C.) Sandwich, 2011 to date.

Dr. Moses Maclean Abnory is a Christian and a staunch member of the Presbyterian Church, Ghana. His hobbies are Reading and Writing, Planning Social and Charitable Events, Listening to music, and Farming. He is a self-motivated, organised, enthusiastic, and dedicated and a hard working individual who is committed to his career. He exhibits good knowledge of his professional area and impart it with great passion towards the achievement of results. He is an experienced educational administrator and a health services management consultant. An effectual leader with proven ability to develop registries of emerging higher institutions of learning (Universities). He has Nineteen years of higher education and health services management experience, Five years of consultancy services in the field of managing organisations and its stakeholders, a strong passion for facilitating personal and staff capacity building. His major strengths as an Organisational Development expert and a University administrator are in the management of the University’s resources, his ability to work under pressure, his ability to advise and assist in implementing important decisions and policies, as well as his pragmatic and visionary drive makes him suitable in acquiring a lot of the positions stated above.
