TTU Alumnus gives back to university

A 2001/2002 Graphics Design graduate of Takoradi Technical University, Frederick Osei, has donated over 500 assorted books to the Graphics and ICT departments to support learning and teaching at the departments. Presenting the books to TTU management on behalf of Frederick Osei, an Administrator at the Marketing Department, Justice Ampah-Kwofi, said Frederick Osei who is now based in the United States continued his education in ICT in the United States but found an opportunity to support his Alma Mater with the over 500 books.

Vice Chancellor of Takoradi Technical University, Rev. Prof. John Frank Eshun, when receiving the assorted books commended Federick Osei looking back to help the university. Prof. Eshun however charged the university community to seek help from past students who are in a position to help.

“I thank you very much for networking for us to get these books. As a university, we have a huge network of alumni the world over, which most of you might even be in contact with them. We look at the big universities, it is the alumni that drive them. So I want to thank you very much for the work that you did for us to get this book. I believe we have to try and then also connect to other Alumni who are outside Ghana, so they’ll be able to get similar facility for our students. This will go a long way to help us improve teaching and learning, in the university“, he said.

Also present at the presentation were the Acting Pro-Vice Chancellor, Evang. Prof. Anthony Joe Turkson and the Registrar of Takoradi Technical University, Dr. Moses Maclean Abnory.
