Takoradi Technical University, TTU, has unveiled the long awaited 70th Anniversary celebration cloth as the official cloth for the commemoration of the seven-decade milestone of the University. The unveiling ceremony took place during the 2024/2025 Staff Durbar attended by Management, Faculty Members, Administrators and general staff of the University.
The Anniversary cloth which design incorporates traditional themes, symbolizing knowledge, innovation, and community, reflects the University’s heritage and future aspirations, and will be worn during the remaining upcoming 70th anniversary activities.
The Vice Chancellor of TTU, Rev. Prof. John Frank Eshun, expressed gratitude to staff and management for their hard work which is driving the University towards its mission. He also congratulated those who have been promoted during the year.
“Your hard work, commitment, and passion have been instrumental in our success. I would like to take this opportunity to congratulate our staff who have been promoted to the rank of Deputy Registrars, Associate Professors, and Full Professors, as well as our new PhD holders. Congratulations, and continue with the good work.”, he expressed.
Prof. Eshun commended the staff for their contributions and active participation in the 70th anniversary celebrations, encouraging them to do more.
“The enthusiasm and your dedication surrounding the 70th anniversary has been incredible. Your active participation in all the programmes organised so far is commendable, so let us do same for the remaining programmes. I am extremely proud of how far we have come in this celebration. Reflecting on the way we started and how far we have progressed, let us continue to build the momentum as we move forward,” he said.
He further advised staff to improve on their approach towards work as school resumes.
Pro Vice Chancellor, Prof. Victor Kweku Bondzie Micah, gave a highlight of the remaining 70th anniversary activities scheduled from November 25, 2024, to December 1, 2024. The activities include the unveiling of projects, community outreach, a technology fair, an inaugural lecture, a grand durbar, a health walk, aerobics, an awards dinner night, and a thanksgiving service.
Also present at the Staff Durbar were the Registrar of TTU, Dr. Moses Maclean Abnory and the Director Finance, Dr. Sam Gabriel Ahinful, as well as other management members.
The Pro Vice Chancellor who is also the 70th Anniversary Committee Chairman together with some staff showcased apparels designed with the anniversary cloth.
