Takoradi Technical University (TTU) has once again maintained its position as the No. 1 ranked Technical University in Ghana in the 2026 First Quarter rankings by the AD Scientific Index. The University also placed 14th overall among all universities in Ghana, outperforming institutions such as the University of Mines and Technology (19th), Central University Ghana (23rd), and the University of Professional Studies, Accra (26th).
The University further outperformed all its Technical University counterparts nationwide, with Koforidua Technical University placing second (15th overall nationally), followed by Cape Coast Technical University in third position (18th overall). Ho Technical University, Accra Technical University, and Kumasi Technical University followed in that order.
Maintaining this top position for the second consecutive time reflects the University’s strategic investment in research capacity and staff development under its Strategic Plan (2021–2025), which continues to strengthen scholarly output, institutional visibility, and academic excellence across all staff categories.
Significantly, this achievement received special commendation from the Minister for Education, Haruna Iddrisu, during the 6th Special Congregation of Takoradi Technical University, where he acknowledged TTU’s leadership within Ghana’s Technical University sector.
TTU will host the 4th International Applied Research Conference 2026 from 25th to 29th May 2026, providing an important global platform for researchers, academics, and industry partners to share innovative, solution-driven research addressing real-world challenges.
