TTU PARTNERS GENSER ENERGY TO PREPARE ENGINEERING STUDENTS FOR INDUSTRY

Takoradi Technical University, TTU, in partnership with Genser Energy, has organized a capacity-building workshop to equip engineering students with industry-relevant skills and enhance their employability in the energy sector.

The workshop, under the theme “Empowering Young Engineers for Genser’s Graduate Training Programme,” aimed to expose students to the realities of the energy industry, strengthen their soft skills, and prepare them for Genser’s Graduate Trainee and SEO Africa selection processes.

Speaking on behalf of TTU management, Pro Vice Chancellor, Ing. Prof. Ebenezer Boakye expressed gratitude to Genser Energy for its continued collaboration with the university. He noted that the partnership has significantly contributed to TTU’s development and the growth of Ghana’s energy sector. He encouraged students to take the programme seriously, emphasizing that professional training goes beyond the classroom and requires both technical competence and soft skills.

Dean of the Faculty of Engineering, Ing. Prof. Winfred Adjardjah, highlighted the long-standing relationship between TTU and Genser Energy, noting that the company has supported students through internships and employment opportunities. He said the workshop was designed to help students understand job market expectations before graduation.

Genser Energy’s Human Resource Analyst, Gloria Obenewaa, outlined the structure of the company’s 18-month graduate training programme, which includes corporate, project, and operational rotations to provide comprehensive industry exposure.

Talent Acquisition Analyst at SEO Africa, Ebenezer Asare, also briefed students on eligibility and application requirements. He stated that applicants must have graduated within the past two years from a technical or diploma-awarding university in Ghana with at least a third-class degree. He further advised students to submit a concise one-page CV and shared tips for crafting a competitive résumé.

The initiative reflects TTU’s commitment to producing industry-ready graduates and strengthening partnerships that promote national development in the energy sector.
