Takoradi Technical University, TTU, has participated in this year’s three-day Petroleum Commission-organized Local Content and Local Participation Conference in Takoradi.
The annual Local Content and Local Participation Conference is the biggest gathering of players in the Oil and Gas industry from Ghana, Africa, and beyond who meet to take stack of the success, challenges and the way forward of the petroleum sector.
The Head of TTU’s Jubilee Technical Training Centre, Prof. John Bentil, leading the Oil and Natural Gas Department of the Faculty of Engineering, delegation, played a pivotal role as a moderator of the technical panel discussions, emphasized TTU’s contributions to local participation.
Prof. Bentil reemphasized TTU’s commitment to training engineering workforce for Ghana’s offshore petroleum operations, underscoring the University’s ardent support for local content development. TTU and JTTC have consistently been a driving force in promoting local content and local participation in Ghana’s oil and gas industry.
TTU’s Oil and Natural Gas Department trains and develop technicians in the areas of Petroleum Engineering, Process Engineering, Welding and Fabrication Engineering and Technology.
Other members of the TTU delegation to the Local Content Conference included Dr. Joseph Sekyi-Ansah (Head, Oil and Natural Gas Department), Lord Kwame Segbeawu (Lecturer), Anita Dickson (Senior Registrar), and a contingent of students. The conference provided valuable opportunities for networking and technical discussions, addressing key challenges in the sector.
