Takoradi Technical University, TTU, has reinforced its commitment to academic excellence as the Faculty of Business Studies, FoBS, honoured twenty-three (23) outstanding students at its maiden Dean’s Excellence Awards Ceremony, held under the theme “Celebrating Excellence, Inspiring Futures.”
The awardees were recognised for exceptional academic performance, having attained a Cumulative Weighted Average, CWA, above 80, reflecting the faculty’s high standards and in line with TTU’s vision of excellence.

The Vice Chancellor, Rev. Prof. John Frank Eshun, described the initiative as a strategic step toward nurturing a culture of merit and scholarly achievement within the University.
He commended the Faculty of Business Studies for pioneering the initiative and expressed the hope that other faculties would adopt similar programmes to encourage healthy academic competition. He further reminded students that excellence is built on discipline, resilience, and consistency.

Former Dean of the Faculty, Mr. Kofi Abaidoo, described the theme as timely in an era of growing distractions, stressing the importance of recognising achievers to motivate others. He urged students to remain focused and purposeful in their academic journey.

In her welcome address, the Dean of the Faculty of Business Studies, Prof. Abigail Gura, described the ceremony as significant, noting that the awards were strictly merit-based and designed to affirm excellence as a core value of TTU.

The ceremony forms part of TTU’s resolve to inspire excellence and prepare students for leadership and national development.
