The Faculty of Health and Allied Sciences, FHAS, has won the highly anticipated 70th Anniversary Inter-Faculty Quiz Competition, with a score of 26 points after four rounds of competition. To clinch the top position, they had to beat six other faculties and schools including Faculty of Engineering, Faculty of Applied Science, Faculty of Built and Natural Environment, Faculty of Applied Arts and Technology, and the Centre for Languages and Liberal Studies.
The quiz competition tested participants’ knowledge on a wide range of topics such as the history of the University, its Statutes and Structure, TVET (Technical and Vocational Education and Training), and general knowledge.
After three intense rounds of preliminary contests, three teams, Faculty of Business Studies, Faculty of Health and Allied Sciences, and Faculty of Applied Arts and Technology qualified for the final stage.
In the finals, FHAS finished first with 26 points, followed in second place by Faculty of Business Studies with 25 points and Faculty of Applied Arts and Technology securing the third position with 21 points.
The Pro Vice Chancellor of TTU, Prof. Victor Kweku Bondzie Micah who chaired the occasion of the quiz competition event, while commending the competing teams and the overall winner, noted that the quiz competition was an opportunity for students to acquaint themselves of the history of the University and its statutes.
The winning team received a cash prize of GH¢1000, while the second and third place teams received GH¢700 and GH¢500 respectively.
