ARCTUG-2026 RECEIVES 255 RESEARCH PAPERS

The Applied Research Conference of Technical Universities of Ghana, ARCTUG-2026, under the auspices of the Vice-Chancellors of Technical Universities of Ghana, VCTU-G, and to be hosted by Takoradi Technical University, has so far received 255 abstract submissions from both local and international scholars ahead of the submission deadline of 31st March 2026.

Out of the total submissions, 156 are from Ghanaian researchers, while 99 have been received from contributors across Africa, Europe, North America, and Asia. The countries submissions came from includes Zimbabwe, Zambia, The Gambia, Senegal, Cameroon, Nigeria, the United States, Canada, France, Spain, the United Kingdom, and Malaysia. The high international interest reflects the growing global recognition of ARCTUG as a leading platform for applied research within the Technical University sector.

The conference, scheduled for 25th to 29th May 2026, will be held under the theme “Advancing TVET for Innovation, Technology Transfer, and Entrepreneurship for Sustainable Development.” The abstracts cover diverse and forward-looking areas, including digital transformation, STEM and applied sciences, entrepreneurship, fintech, maritime studies, sustainability, innovation in agriculture, and the integration of humanities and media technology in technical education.

Speaking at the 26th Regular Meeting of the VCTU-G in Accra, Prof. Efua Nkrumah, Chair of the Local Organising Committee said “the impressive number of submissions received so far demonstrates the confidence the academic community has in ARCTUG as a credible platform for impactful research engagement. Preparations are briskly underway to ensure a well-organised and intellectually rewarding conference.”

Mr. Ronald Osei Mensah, National Coordinator for the ARCTUG 2026 Research and Publications also noted that the quality and diversity of the abstracts received point to a vibrant research culture within Technical Universities. “We anticipate rigorous peer review and rich scholarly discussions that will advance innovation and sustainable development”, he remarked.

With the submission deadline approaching and preparations intensifying, ARCTUG 2026 is shaping up to be a landmark academic event that will further strengthen collaboration, innovation, and research excellence across Technical Universities in Ghana and beyond.
