Directorate of Works and Physical Development

The Directorate was established with a mandate to implement decisions of the Development Committee as approved by the University Council. The activities of the Directorate are geared towards maintaining a safe, secured and conducive environment for working, teaching and learning. In pursuant to this, the Directorate co-ordinates physical development activities and infrastructural maintenance of University properties, while facilitating and monitoring the execution of contracts.

With a qualified team, the Directorate also provides consultancy and supervisory services, for and on behalf of the University. To facilitate the smooth running of the Directorate, the Director works in close collaboration with six other Units, namely: Estate Management, Maintenance, Grounds and Gardens, Quantity Surveying, Architectural and Engineering Services. Each of these Units can boast of qualified personnel who work together to ensure that the mandate of the Directorate and the University are achieved.
