The Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) are the UN’s blueprint for a more sustainable future for all. Their adoption put environmental degradation, sustainability, climate change, and water security under the international spotlight. The global goals aim to leave no one behind and are vital to achieving CDP’s vision for a thriving economy that works for people and planet.
The main aim of SDGs 15 is to Protect, restore and promote sustainable use of terrestrial ecosystems, sustainably manage forests, combat desertification, and halt and reverse land degradation and halt biodiversity loss.
Takoradi Technical University is committed to promoting a sustainable use of our ecosystems and preserving biodiversity because it is the key to our own survival.
We are especially interested in projects that address the triple bottom line; Environment Health, Social Well-being and Economic Balance. We are encouraged to consider the project idea in light of this integral understanding of sustainability. Such consideration encourages interdisciplinary dialogue and innovative connections that can benefit Takoradi Technical University and the Country at large.
In the light of this, Takoradi Technical University has implemented policies which will aid the utilization of our land resource to augment the growing of trees and plants which are eco-friendly and also to improve the aesthetic appearance of the university.
