Mr. PHILIP KWAW, Director of Works and Physical Development

 

OVERVIEW

The Directorate is responsible for the implementation of the decisions of the Development Committee, as approved by the University Council. The Directorate also co-ordinates development activities, monitors the execution of contracts and provides consultancy and supervisory services on behalf of the University.

 

The Director co-ordinates activities of sub-bodies such as: the Estate, the Maintenance, the Grounds and Gardens, the Quantity Surveying, the Architectural and the Engineering Services.

 

STAFF

The Directorate currently has seven (7) senior members, thirteen (13) senior staff and ninety-two (92) junior staff who work in several capacities in furtherance of its objectives.

The following are the projects that are on-going under the watch of the Directorate:

  • Construction of various institutional Facilities at Akatakyi TVET Campus;
  • Reconstruction of 5-Storey Oduro Block;
  • Construction of 5-Storey Students’ Hostel;
  • Construction of Vice Chancellor’s Residence;
  • Renovation of University Clinic; and
  • Construction of University Printing Press.
